2017 — present
Western Highlands
Guatemala
Nine trips over eight years documenting well construction and, more recently, training the local water committees to film their own maintenance reports and community updates.
Mission work
Half of every year's project slate goes to mission and nonprofit partners at or below cost. This is the part of the work that pays for itself in a different currency.
The commitment
No footage is captured before a partner and the people in it understand exactly where it will run and for how long.
Every trip includes training. If a partner still needs me in five years, I've done the job badly.
Field staff and community members narrate their own work. I don't hire a voiceover artist to explain someone's life to them.

Post-flood recovery documentation across three counties, shot slowly and released only with the consent of every household featured.
Mission partners are quoted on a sliding scale, and training your own staff is always part of the scope. Tell me what you’re working on.
